MATERIALS needed: 3-ring binder, ruled paper, pens (black ink only), pencils. Spiral notebooks are unacceptable for all classes. (5 x 8 notecards for Speech classes)

PERIOD 1: Preparation/Conference Period

PERIOD 2: (11th Grade) Research & Writing: Emphasis will be on writing during the First Semester, and on Research in the Second Semester; however, the two areas will not be totally discrete at any time.

Week of 10/27 HARVEST FESTIVAL Art this week

PERIOD 5: SPEECH (Grade 8) Emphasis will be on writing and presenting speeches in class. Characteristics of proper public speaking will be studied. The 2-minute speeches may be read. Eventually, speeches will be given from notecards. Presentations will include monologues, skits, and poems as well as a variety of speech forms.

 PERIOD 7: DRAMA: Emphasis will be on familiarization with the elements of Drama and becoming familiar with a variety of dramatic forms, such as films, skits, and monologues. AISA hosts a Drama Festival in January. It would be desirable for PA to participate in this activity. If feasable, we will go to Montgomery.
